Monday Morning Motivation – Patience

(Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially)

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement — along with a good cup of coffee! — to start the day.

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Patience

Of all of the virtues that you could be blessed with, patience is at the top of the list of the ones that I did NOT get.  While I am extremely grateful for all of the blessings that have been bestowed upon me, patience is the one gift that I most wish I had received.

All too often things do not go as expected.  When this happens those of us that lack patience quickly devolve in to a state of frustration.  Oh the absurdity….

In most cases, the “crisis” that has arisen via the unexpected is NOT as severe as expected; and, if we had just had a bit of patience we could have avoided much unneeded stress.  Conversely, when the crisis is severe, patience often proves to be the salve that cools the emotions.

The good news is that patience CAN be cultivated.  It just takes time – and patience!  Yes that is indeed a circular argument, but one that is very appropriate.  Patience can be acquired if you focus on staying calm, looking at things objectively, and asking “is this really that critical?” as well as “is it worth taking a bit of time to wait?”.

My question for you this week is:

  • Would you be well served to spend a bit of time developing your powers of patience?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning and I wish you all the best for the week.
