Monday Morning Motivation – Recover

(Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially)

Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement — along with a good cup of coffee! — to start the day.

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Recover

These days the pace of life is such that there is always “one more thing” on our to do list no matter how many hours we work.

As a result, we do not always take the requisite time to recover:  emotionally, physically, or spiritually.  That can be very, very dangerous – both to our health and to our relationships.

One of the hardest lessons to learn is that doing nothing (e.g. recovering) is actually doing something!

Once we embrace this concept, it becomes a lot easier to set time aside to recharge our batteries.  Mind you, just because you can understand this concept intellectually does NOT always mean that you can put it in action.

For me, taking/finding the time to relax, recharge and recover has NOT come easy.  I’m wired to go-go-go and the “do nothing” message has taken a LONG time to get through my thick skull.  However, over the past two years I have done MUCH better; and, not surprisingly, I’m finding myself much more productive as a result!

Further, as with most recovering “addicts” I have noticed that A LOT of folks struggle with making/taking time to recover.  Fortunately, I have avoided becoming a pest and badgering them with my new-found insights.  However, sometimes I just can’t resist!

And, with that in mind, I’d like to pose this week’s question:

•    Are you taking enough time to recover emotionally, physically and spiritually?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning and I wish you all the best for the week.

Curt

Blog post from this past week:

At F5 Financial Planning we focus on helping individuals and families find balance between faith, friends and family, fitness and finance.  We make sure that they have the financial freedom to enjoy those things in life that are important to them.  And while we believe the left-brain facts and data are critical; we work with our clients to get them in the right state of mind to focus on the goals they want to achieve.
