Monday Morning Motivation – Present

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "present."
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Present
No, I’m not talking about a Christmas present this week—although timing would suggest that’s appropriate! Instead, I’m talking about being present on Christmas.
This year the concept of “being present” versus “a Christmas present” is at the forefront of A LOT of people’s minds. Covid has been “nice enough” (sarcasm intended) to disrupt the Holiday plans of just about everyone I know. Unfortunately, many of us won’t have as many family present with us this year. That’s going to sting a bit.
But, through the wonders of technology, we’ll likely still be able to spend time with them. Furthermore, next year I’m guessing it will be back to normal, and we will make up for lost time.
However, I’d like to challenge everyone reading this to ask themselves two questions I feel are very important:
- Are you really present each and every moment of each and every day?
-OR- - Are you just present in body, while your mind is preoccupied on something else?
An absence at Christmas one year is less than ideal; however, we can and will likely get back on track the next year.
In contrast, an ongoing lack of presence is something that should have us all questioning our priorities.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Are you making time to be truly present??
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
Curt
