Monday Morning Motivation – Closure

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "closure."
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Closure
As we come to the end of another year, I can’t help but reflect on all of the things that I have and have not accomplished. In so doing, I also can’t help but recognize that there are certain things in my life that I’ve let linger on year, after year, after year.
That’s not a good thing.
I’ve come to understand and embrace the concept of “sanctification”—that growing as an individual is a journey that we will never complete while we are on this earth. However, there are certain things where we KNOW that we are unwilling or unable to do what is necessary to get to our desired state. For those things, we need to either:
- Make the tough changes that address our unwillingness, OR
- Accept that we are unable and close the chapter.
I’m not suggesting that ANYONE “give up.” What I am suggesting is that we face the reality that we are in control of our actions and either move forward with facing or step aside from and close down those things in our lives that we have been reticent to address. Either option is fine. But, in my opinion, failing to choose is NOT fine.
Over the Holiday season, I’m going to take some time to either put in place a plan to address these lingering issues OR to permanently put them out of my mind/acknowledge that I don’t really want to face the issues. It will be a bit painful to do so, but I am 100% certain that taking this step will bring me peace of mind. And that’s something that I very much value!
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Where are you putting off closure in your life?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
Curt
