Monday Morning Motivation – Decision

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "decision."
Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter along to others who you think would benefit from the content.
Decision
Failing to plan is planning to fail. I truly believe that. While there are some who are blessed with the ability to jump in and have everything just fall into place, they are the exception versus the rule.
We must start with a decision on what it is we want to accomplish. Only then, can we build a plan and start taking action.
Unfortunately, all too many people get caught in the trap of “paralysis by analysis.” You know the routine:
- I need to do X, to get to Y.
- But if I do X, Z might happen instead of Y.
- Z might make if difficult or impossible to achieve Y.
- I need to do A to make sure that, if X happens, I can still get to Y.
- Wash, rinse repeat, for multiple cycles.
- Do nothing because you have thoroughly wrapped yourself around your personal axle!
In all but the rarest of situations, there is a correlation between risk and reward. When you set out to accomplish something, there will be a risk that it might not turn out as expected. HOWEVER, you ultimately must decide if you are willing to take the risk to reap the reward.
No decision. No action. No reward.
And I would argue that the “no decision, no action, no reward” path is synonymous with no life! I’m NOT encouraging anyone to act foolishly or rashly. However, I am encouraging EVERYONE to weigh the pros and cons and then make the decision. Living in limbo land is not healthy in my opinion.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- What decision are you putting off in your life?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
