Monday Morning Motivation – Worry

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Worry
Lately, I’ve found myself spending a lot of time reading about Stoicism — one of those ancient philosophies that somehow feels more relevant the crazier the world gets.
At its heart, Stoicism really focuses on three simple (but not so easy!) ideas:
1. Perception → Am I seeing this situation clearly?
Or… am I caught up in assumptions, emotions, or worst-case-scenario thinking?
2. Action → Am I acting intentionally?
Or am I just reacting on autopilot?
3. Acceptance → Am I focusing only on what I can actually control?
Or am I burning energy trying to control things I never really could in the first place?
The Stoics believed if you could get better — even a little better — at these three things, life would feel calmer. Less frantic. More peaceful. Less worry.
Sounds good, right?
But here’s the catch…
Simple to understand. Really hard to live.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Is it really going to help to worry about things?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
Curt
