Monday Morning Motivation – Intensity

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss intensity.
Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Intensity
We’ve got three cats in our home. The largest is Leo. He’s a black and white tuxedo. Leo’s NOT a small cat (I’m being polite!). Leo is really laid back.
However, when you get out one of Leo’s favorite toys, he can and will turn up the intensity. He’s not quite back to his kitten level of energy, but he moves pretty darn quick—he’s got the fastest paws that I’ve ever seen on a cat! Leo chooses when, where, and how to increase the intensity.
We all have the ability to choose when, where and how we increase the intensity in our lives. We have the ability to choose the level of intensity we “turn on” in the personal, professional, and spiritual dimensions. It’s absolutely critical that we recognize that the choice of intensity is ours and ours alone.
I would argue that our choices in the area of intensity can and will shape our lives. Leo’s never going to get to a higher level of accomplishment and/or a higher level of self-actualization. And that’s fine, as cats aren’t designed for growth in these dimensions (and we’ll leave Leo’s weight out of the discussion on growth).
However, we are designed to grow in the dimensions of achievement and self-actualization. We all have incredible gifts that we can and should develop for our good and the good of others. And that means that, on occasion, we need to turn up the intensity.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Are you putting out the proper degree of intensity?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
Curt
