Monday Morning Motivation – Mindset

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss mindset.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Mindset
Can do, can’t do. Abundance, scarcity. Positive, negative. Optimistic, pessimistic. Each of these pairs highlights contrasting mindsets.
- Any questions after looking at these as to which is preferred?
I have always believed in the importance of mindset. However, over the past two and a half years, I have become even more convinced of the importance of mindset. This has come vis-à-vis a daily reading of Ryan Holiday’s The Daily Stoic. Each day, I get a small dose of the importance of the three principles that underly Stoicism:
- Control your perceptions.
- Direct your actions properly.
- Willingly accept what is outside of your control.
Embracing these three principles and using them to guide my mindset has been huge! When I find myself NOT in a good place mentally, I refer back to this rubric.
When I do, it becomes clear 99.9% of the time that the only reason I am struggling is because of my mindset—because I am NOT “willingly accepting what is outside of my control.” Once I realize this and “let go,” things fall into place nicely.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- What’s your mindset?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
