Monday Morning Motivation – Recognized
Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Recognized
How do you know who is and who is not a professional? Certainly, you could use the litmus test of “getting paid” to judge professionalism. However, I think there is a better method (and Pressfield agrees):
- The mark of a professional is that he or she is recognized by their peers as a professional.
Normally, I am big on taking control of your own mind and avoiding the influence of external forces. However, when it comes to being a professional, in my opinion, acceptance by your peers (i.e., others that have been established as professionals) is one of the key litmus tests.
Circular logic? I don’t think so. Almost all of us are aware of who is a pro and who is not. And other pros DEFINITELY know who is and who is not a pro. Gaining acceptance by your professional peers is a huge step in your development—and one that we should all strive for.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Would you be recognized by your peers as a professional?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
Curt
