Monday Morning Motivation – Vocation

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Vocation
Most likely, you are reading this Monday early in the morning. And if you are, then most likely, there are a number of people in the workplace around you who would rather the clock be turned back 48 hours, so they could enjoy the weekend and avoid doing “time” at work.
But there are likely those around the office who are looking forward to spending the next five days doing something that they love. Are they strange? I don’t think so.
I think that the difference is that they have found their calling. They have found the kind of work where they feel like they make a difference in the lives of others—the kind of work that can best be described as significant. That’s why what they have is a vocation. And there is a huge difference in my mind between a job and a vocation. A job is something that you do. A vocation is something that you live.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Do you have a job or a vocation?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
Curt
About MMM: Each week I publish “Monday Morning Motivation” in the hopes that at least one person will find a bit of inspiration and that this inspiration will have a positive impact on their life. My motivation comes from experiences, reading, sermons, and discussions.
