Monday Morning Motivation – Vulnerability
Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Vulnerability
The Courage to Be Seen: The Power of Vulnerability
If there’s one word in the English language that holds incredible power—and perhaps even greater potential—it’s this: vulnerability.
In the United States, we’re often raised on the myth of “rugged individualism” and the idea of the “self-made man.” It’s a compelling narrative, but it’s not the full truth. The reality? We are strong because we rely on one another. We grow, we rise, we overcome—together.
But here’s the catch: to rely on each other, we must first let ourselves be seen. That means showing the parts of us that aren’t perfect. The parts that are tender, uncertain, or tired. The parts that are—yes—vulnerable.
There’s a lie that too many of us have swallowed: If I show weakness, I’ll be taken advantage of. I’ll get run over. Nonsense. Every single one of us has limits—physically, emotionally, spiritually. And when we try to “tough it out” alone, the cost is often heavier than we imagined. We become isolated. And isolation? That’s where struggle thrives.
But something incredible happens when we lean in and show up honestly. When we drop the mask and let others in. That’s when community shows up. That’s when people step forward—not to judge, but to stand with us. That’s when the real, unshakable bonds are built.
Now, let’s be real—it’s not easy. Vulnerability takes guts. It can be uncomfortable. Even scary. But I believe, wholeheartedly, that the rewards far outweigh the risk. Because in the space where fear used to live, connection takes root. And in connection, we become not weaker—but braver, stronger, and more deeply human.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Have you embraced vulnerability in your life?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
