Monday Morning Motivation – Purpose
Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "purpose"
Hopefully, the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter along to others who you think would benefit from the content.
Purpose
If and when you get to the “why” behind what you are doing, things become much easier. That’s why today I’m challenging you to think about “purpose”. There are two ways that purpose normally surfaces in our lives:
- He/she did that on purpose
- He/she has a purpose
Both of these share one common element – intentionality. And that is where it is easy to stumble. We all have a ton of things going on in our lives. That causes us to be overly busy, overly hurried, overly tired, and often overly stressed. Yet there are some around us that always seem to have enough time, be refreshed, and stress free. Why is that?
My belief is that it is because these folks have taken the time to figure out what their purpose is. Mind you, that’s no easy task; and, that’s why most of us are too busy, too hurried, too tired, and too stressed! However, what would happen if you took the time to actually sit down, reflect for an hour, and identify your purpose? What would happen if you then took this purpose and used it as a litmus test against which to measure all that you are thinking and doing?
My challenge to you today is as follows:
- Take an hour of your time this evening or tomorrow morning to define your purpose.
My guess is that once you complete this task, a few things are going to fall in place for you.
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me today; and, please, if you know someone that would benefit from a bit of motivation each week forward them this note. My purpose is to help individuals learn new things, grow as individuals, and live life more fully.

“On Purpose” or “With a Purpose”? In either case, the issue boils down to why you are doing what you are doing.
