Monday Morning Motivation – Restless

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss "restless."
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Restless
I’m fascinated by the way that many words we deal with on a regular basis are composed of other words and are so blatant about what they are communicating. Restless is such a word:
- Rest - An instance or period of relaxing or ceasing to engage in strenuous or stressful activity
- Less - A smaller amount of; not as much.
When we say someone is “restless”:
- We are saying they cannot sit still and let things be.
- We are saying that they are getting smaller amounts of time to allow their mind and body to recover.
I am 100% convinced that we ALL need to take/make downtime to allow our minds and bodies to recover. When we are restless, we literally are unable to pursue these times of recovery. And that’s not good.
What is good is that restlessness is a signal to us that something is not aligned in our lives. It’s a signal that we need to make changes. And that’s a good thing—as long as we listen to the signal and make the necessary changes.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- Why are you restless?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
Curt
