Monday Morning Motivation – Will

Sharing Resources to Help You Grow Personally, Professionally & Financially
Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement—along with a good cup of coffee!—to start the day. Today we discuss will.
Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week. Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.
Will
Willing. Willful. Willpower. We’re all familiar with these words, but the core word —will (as in the noun)—is one that we don’t think of quite so much. In looking up the definition, I came across this:
- The faculty by which a person decides on and initiates action
What an awesome definition—faculty, decide, initiate, action
Each and every day, we are faced with situations that are NOT to our liking. As the definition above points out, we have free will:
- We have our mental faculties/are able to process what is going on around us
- We make conscious decisions on how we will proceed.
- We initiate the action that we respond with.
The chocolate cake didn’t “make” me eat it. And NO ONE “made” you yell at this person or treat that person unkindly.
Each of us has free will, and each of us needs to own that free will and use it in a manner that is honoring of God and others.
That brings us to this week’s question:
- How do you exercise your will?
Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.
Have a great week!
Curt
