Sometimes it helps to get a little dose of encouragement-along with a good cup of coffee!-to start the day. Today we discuss restraint.

Hopefully the message below will help you get off to a good start for the week.  Please feel free to forward the newsletter on to others that you think would benefit from the content.

Restraint

I grew up with a nasty temper. And while over time I improved, it took me decades to finally get it under control.

And the damage it did in my relationships while it was out of control was beyond belief.

There's a cold, hard reality that we must all face: sometimes things will not go as we like. In those times, it is highly likely that our emotions will start to come to the forefront of our mind. The temptation will be to allow our intellect to be overcome by them. Don't. Instead, exercise restraint.

Is this easy? Nope. Is it effective? Yep. If you don't follow this path, you're consciously choosing another path-the path of regret:

  • We must all live with one of two pains. The pain of discipline or the pain of regret - Jim Rohn

I revisit this quote multiple times every week. It gives me the power to exercise restraint. And I'm a better person because of the discipline of restraint.

That brings us to this week's question:

  • Are you exercising restraint where you should?

Thanks for sharing a bit of your time with me this Monday morning.

Have a great week!

Curt
