F5 Financial is a proud member of

"Will I Have to Work Until I Die?"

It's usually said half-jokingly, but the uncertainty underneath it is real.

Most people approaching retirement have accumulated genuine assets: a 401(k), an IRA, a brokerage account, or real estate. Almost nobody has ever evaluated those pieces together against one actual retirement number.

Cash flow, tax exposure, insurance gaps, and estate documents are usually managed separately from the investment strategy, if they're managed at all. Nobody has ever modeled how the pieces actually interact.

What Retirement Looks Like When the Pieces Are Connected

You know whether you can retire when you want to, because the math has actually been run.

Your cash flow, investments, tax strategy, insurance, and estate plan are working from the same picture.

You get a quarterly report that shows exactly how you're tracking toward your retirement goals.

Your portfolio is built for sustained growth using a disciplined, data-driven approach.

All investing involves risk, including the risk of loss. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

How Retirement Planning Works at F5

We assess your current and anticipated income, and then model what needs to happen from a budgetary and growth standpoint to meet your retirement goals.

Goal Planning

Our initial meeting will center around what your goals are for retirement. We want to know what your ideal is for your golden years—travel? Philanthropy? Debt free? All of the above? Your vision will help us put the pieces in place to get you there.

Cash Flow Planning and Analysis

We assess your current and anticipated income, and then model what needs to happen from a budgetary and growth standpoint to meet your retirement goals.

Investments

We assess your investments and then optimize them for the sustained growth needed to meet your goals. We leverage a disciplined, factor-based, data-driven approach that doesn’t attempt to outsmart the market, but instead capitalizes on its predictable behaviors.

Financial Projections & Quarterly Reports

We produce financial projections for your retirement portfolio and deliver quarterly reports that show how you’re tracking toward your retirement goals.

The Financial Health Cycle

Retirement planning is part of F5's comprehensive planning offering, available with or without investment management. It starts with a one-time $3,000 initial planning fee, plus an ongoing annual fee that scales with your investable assets. Both are fully disclosed on our fees page before you engage.

Generally, F5 Financial is ideal for families who have a minimum of $1,000,000 in investable assets.

What's Included in F5 Financial’s Retirement Planning

Tax Planning and Tax Reduction Strategy

F5 Financial will structure your portfolio to ensure tax savings are maximized. We will implement opportunities for tax savings and find ways to free up cash that can be reinvested or reduce debt.

Our tax planning will also seek to reduce estate taxes, which can have a large impact on the total value of your assets if not properly mitigated.

Investment Management and Monitoring

F5 Financial employs a structured approach to investment management. Instead of trying to outsmart the market, we use data based on the various dimensions of the market to strategize how your portfolio needs to be invested. Our management of your retirement portfolio keeps your goals as top priority.

Insurance and Risk Management

Insurance is an important component to planning your retirement. We will assess how your goals need to be supported through holding life insurance, health insurance, disability insurance or long-term care insurance policies. We will then assist with obtaining the proper policies to protect you and your family.  We are a fee-only firm and receive NO commissions for any solutions that we recommend.

Estate Planning & Wealth Preservation

When we know what you want your legacy to be, our retirement planning process will ensure your estate guarantees that legacy. Our estate planning services will focus on minimizing estate taxes and preserving the value of your assets.

Cash Flow Planning and Budgeting

Saving for the retirement you want only works if there is disciplined planning and budgeting. We will review your current and anticipated cash flow and debt, then create a budget that ensures sustained growth for retirement.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I have enough to retire?

That’s exactly what retirement planning answers. We model your cash flow, investments, and goals together so you get an actual answer, updated every quarter as things change.

Do I need a minimum amount of assets to work with you?

Retirement planning generally starts around $1,000,000 in investable assets. If you’re close and saving aggressively toward that, reach out anyway. Fit matters more than a hard cutoff.

I already have an advisor. Why would I consider you?

Most people do have an advisor. The real question is whether that advisor is coordinating your investments, taxes, insurance, and estate plan, or managing each piece separately. The FHC Snapshot answers that, at no cost.

How often will we meet?

Quarterly, typically over Zoom, with in-person availability at our Naperville IL, McDonough GA, or Venice FL offices if you prefer.

Can you guarantee I won't run out of money?

No one honestly can, and we’d be cautious of anyone who says otherwise. What we can do is build a plan around your actual numbers and revisit it every quarter as life changes.

Is the first conversation free?

Yes. We start with a short questionnaire, then a complimentary FHC Snapshot meeting with an advisor, at no cost and no obligation.
